Essential Mods for Every Baldur's Gate 3 Player
I am sure you guys are having plenty of fun in Baldur’s Gate 3, but I think it’s time to spice things up with some MODS! There are hundreds of awesome mods you can find to make your game experience a whole lot better. You can make the game more visually appealing, improve the UI, or make it super ridiculous by adding some hilarious stuff.
After spending some time modding Baldur’s Gate 3, I’ve picked out five mods that I think are absolutely worth your attention. I’ve picked these mods because they are useful, and can help you make the game look and feel better.
1. Best Boy
One of the best things you can do in Baldur’s Gate 3 is make that cute little companion of yours stronger. I am talking about Scratch, that doggo who’s always willing to help you. He can sniff out stuff for you, guide you around, keep watch for you, but he’s easily hurt due to its fragile nature. With this mod, you can give him boosted stats like health, dexterity, and more, making him a much more capable adventurer. This allows you to take him into dangerous areas without worrying about him getting knocked out right away.
The mod even offers an “Invincible Scratch” version, which means you’ll never have to watch your beloved pup get hurt again. But I would definitely suggest just sticking with his boosted abilities, that should be enough for him to help you sniff out hidden items, assist downed allies, and such.
2. Hug Your Companions
I am sure you all love romance in Baldur’s Gate 3, but sometimes we just want to show our appreciation for your companions in a purely platonic way. The Hug Your Companions mod fills this gap, letting you hug your favorite adventuring companion without having to get into relationship with them. It’s such a wholesome addition that feels like it should’ve been in the base game.
What’s even better is that the mod includes unique voice lines for all ten companions, giving each hug a more personal touch. The hugs work regardless of your character’s race or body type. But it does let you choose if you wanna get into the hug thing without having to develop your relation with the companion or it should require some prior effort to allow that. I think it’s a nice addition.
3. No Intro
I am sure you guys have felt like you’ve seen those intro videos one too many times, and think there should be a way to get rid of those. Well, we’ve got the No Intro mod to help you do exactly that. With this mod, you can just skip through all the logos and splash screens, getting you straight into the action.
While it might seem like a small tweak, this mod actually saves a surprising amount of time over multiple play sessions. You might not feel the difference in one go, but when you actually add them up, it really saves you some frustration. I don’t know about you, but I keep hitting escape just to push things through, it just brings me satisfaction.
4. Party Limit Begone
Ok, this is extremely useful because it allows you to remove the party size cap from the game. Normally, you can only bring four companions with you, which means you’re constantly forced to pick and choose who comes along. But with the Party Limit Begone mod, you can bring up to 16 party members into the world, which is HUGE. This means you can have the entire main cast with you at all times, plus any generic companions you’ve recruited.
And this is not only limited to the story mode, it also increases your party limit to 8, which is still double the amount of original. This really changes the dynamic of the game, making it feel like a full-scale adventuring party. This also increases the replayability, allowing you to play with different combinations of the companions.
5. ImpUI
This one is probably the most essential one out there, especially if you are finding the UI to be a little difficult to navigate. This mod upgrades the game’s interface, making it more intuitive and user-friendly for both players and modders. It even fixes some of the pop-ups and stuff that you’d rather want skipped altogether. It also adds better visual indicators to some of the UI options like sliders.
This can come in handy when you’ve installed multiple mods, making the game more compatible, providing support for other mods by fixing coding issues that could otherwise cause crashes or glitches. So, if you are someone who uses a lot of mods, this is a must-have for you. You can feel the game getting smoother and the whole experience more streamlined. It’s no doubt, one of the most helpful mods.
And those are my favorite picks for Baldur’s Gate 3’s mods. With these, you can really make the game feel more personal, smoother, and heck of a lot more fun.
