How to Fast Travel Between Regions in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Fast Traveling is a life saver for us in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, it just makes our lives a little easier. However, there’s been a lot of confusion when it comes to traveling between regions in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Many players don’t know how to unlock that feature. 

Trust me, it’ll be super straightforward once I explain that to you in this short guide. 

How to Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth 

Before we talk about traveling between regions, we need to understand how Fast Traveling actually works in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. And it’s pretty much the same as any other massive open world RPG you’ve played in the past. All you need to do is open up the map, select a location icon, and select the fast travel option.

Remember, that it doesn’t work with every location, but locations that do have the option, you can easily just select and get to your desired location. If a location doesn’t have fast travel, you do get other options, either to go for Chocoba, or just walk on foot yourself. Of course, using Chocobo is much faster, but slower than fast travel.

However, using Chocobo to explore different cities and regions does come in handy later on in the game, and I will tell you how exactly.

How to Fast Travel Between Regions 

Now, I am sure you already know that the map of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has these regions that divide the map. And it takes quite a while to travel from one region to the other. However, there’s a way to make this whole process a little easier. 

For this to work, you will have to reach the next region in the questline to be able to fast travel back to the previous one. For example, when you reach Junon from Grasslands, you will be able to Fast Travel back to Grasslands, or Costa del Sol using Chocobo. However, there are certain quests you need to complete before you can actually do that.

Specifically, you will need to complete the Stuck in a Rut quest in the Junon region to unlock the Chocobo carriage feature. Keep in mind, this isn’t the same as using the map Fast Travel in the game, but it does help make things easier. It does require you to explore the next regions and complete quests to be able to use this feature, but it’s totally worth it.

Are there Other Ways to Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

Many players don’t realize this, but there are many more ways you can fast travel between towns and regions in this game. Besides the Chocobo carriages, you can also use ferries, airships, or tiny broncos. However, that really depends on how far along you are in the game, and what region you are currently in.

Costa del Sol is another quite popular town where you can find a number of ways to get around different parts of the region. One of the best ways is to use Wheelies to get around, they are really quick and get you mostly anywhere inside the city. Again, keep in mind, you might have to complete certain quests before you can get those options. 

And with that, you should be able to Fast Travel between different regions, and save a ton of time. Again, it’s not the same as using the game’s Fast Travel mechanic, but it’s just as useful for the areas you’ve visited already.
