Everyone Lives in Dragon Age Veilguard Ending

One of the best things that fans love about Dragon Age Veilguard, is the freedom to make choices that lead to totally different game endings. But these decisions can mean a totally different fate for you companions, and some of them might end up losing their lives.

However, with the right planning and choices, you can actually save all of them, if you want to. That requires doing things in a certain order, with some requirements that you need to fulfil beforehand. But you don’t have to worry about all that, because this guide aims to walk you through step by step to reach the ending where every one of your companions end up living.

What You Need to Do Before the Final Quest?

Dragon Age Ending

Now, before heading to the final quest, which is where the fate of your companion lies, you need to do a few things. Firstly, you need to make sure that you complete the quests of every single companion you have. You also need to make sure that every faction has at least two stars, before the final quest begins.

What this does is increase the chances of survival of your companions, so they don’t end up dead. Once you’ve got these requirements fulfilled, you are now ready to make the most important decisions.

1. Choosing Between Harding and Davrin

The first decision you need to make is to pick between Harding and Davrin, and well, whoever you choose will be out of the game for good. So, basically, there’s no easy choice here. So, choose the one you think you’ll use the least.

  • Harding: She’s a solid generalist with physical damage, but she’s not a standout for any specific enemy type.

  • Davrin: He’s got fire damage, but he can be replaced with Taash. Both of them also have Stagger abilities, so they kind of cancel each other out.

So, just go with whoever you want here.

2. Should Neve or Bellara Take Down the Magic Shield?

Now, this one you need to be more careful with. Because, again, you’ll lose whoever you send to take down the shield, so think carefully. Here’s something to keep in mind:

  • You shouldn’t send Bellara, because of her awesome Galvanizing Tear ability and electric damage, which can come handy later.

  • Sending Neve means Lucanis will have to step up for her in the next major decision, while sending Bellara means Taash will need to handle her job.

So, don’t get emotional, and be practical here. Choose the one who’s less useful ahead.

3. Assigning Roles for the Final Arrangements

Now, let’s talk about the final battle, where you need to have the best characters for the roles to avoid any more deaths. Here’s my advice for the final battle:

  • Make sure to send Emmrich, Bellara, or Neve, because this ties to the Veil Jumpers faction.

  • The next thing you need to do is take out Venatori master. And for this, you need to send Lucanis or Neve. If Neve is out, Lucanis is your next best option. This relies on the Lords of Fortune, plus the Antivan Crows or Shadow Dragons.

  • Lastly, you have to disable the Juggernaut Construct. And for that, you need to send Taash or Bellara. If you chose to send Bellara in the choice before, Taash can replace. This is where the Grey Wardens faction comes in handy.

Now, after all that’s done, you will have left with Harding or Davrin, along with one of Bellara, Neve, Taash, Lucanis, or Emmrich for the next battle. What you need to do now is if you have Davrin, you need to send Taash against the Juggernaut, because you don’t need both of them, that will just be unnecessary.

4. Who Should You Send to Help the Factions?

Next up, we have to decide who to send to help the factions. This means sending another one of your companions for another hard job. And for this one, you can choose to send anyone, Harding, Davrin, Neve, or even Bellara. However, it’s better to send Harding, or if you’ve already chosen him previously, go with Davrin.

Keep in mind, if the factions you are helping have two or more stars, your character will come out of it alive.

5. Fight or Trick Solas

Last but not least, we have to make a decision on how we want to deal with Solas. And for that, we’ve got two choices: fight or trick. And both of them end up playing a cutscene, which doesn’t really affect anything. The best way to end the game, at least what most of us believe is the best ending, is for you to have defeated or convinced Mythal earlier in the game and witnessed all of Solas’ memories.

If you have, you can make Solas willingly bind himself to the veil using the Fragment. You can, of course, choose to go with a more violent way, fight and force him to join the Veil. it doesn’t really matter, it’s just something you need to decide according to your morality.

And with that, you will have earned the ending where you’ve kept everyone alive, at least, for the sake of getting the trophy.
