One of the best ways to “git good” in Steamworld Heist 2 is customize your playstyle by playing around with skills and weapons. Unlike most games where you are just stuck with some base classes and their skills, this game lets you pick skills from other jobs, which makes for some very interesting gameplay experience.

Best Brawler Job Skills 

Brawlers are basically the crew's tanks, they’re all about getting up close and dealing heavy damage to the enemies. So, it’s better to go with skills that enhance those capabilities to make them even better. I suggest you pair their Charge attacks with the Flanker’s skill that cuts cooldowns. This means you can keep pulling off those big moves way more often, without having to wait too long.

And if you just throw some Nimble Feet or Greased Up skill, they will get even better to stay mobile to land those melee hits. With this movement skill, your character will be able to move fast around the map and wreck anyone in their way. Basically, you’re turning them into an unstoppable melee monster.

Best Boomers Job Skills 

Now, if you are a Boomer, you know just how much they love explosions. They’re great at keeping their distance and damaging the enemies from afar, but they need to stay alive to do it. That’s where defensive skills like Fortify come in handy, they kinda strengthen your cover, so your Boomer can hide safely while throwing grenades or planting mines.

On top of that, if you use the Slot Machine to carry an extra item. It could be anything, like more grenades or something to help the team. Also, mingle it with a trap skill like landmines, and your Boomer becomes so much more dangerous, locking down areas while blowing everything up from behind cover.

Best Engineer Job Skills 

For the Engineers, who I think are one of the most important parts of any team, they need to be secured. They are quite weak when it comes to handling damage, so we need to keep the enemies away from them. So what you can do is use the Boomer’s Mines skill. This lets you Lay traps to keep melee enemies away from them.

Now, let’s talk about damage. The Engineer’s pistol can be underwhelming if you’re missing your shots. That’s where the Sniper’s Perfect Aim skill comes in handy. It gives you a full aimline and steadies your arm, turning your pistol into a sniper like weapon. I think these skills can really make Engineers much more useful for any team. 

Best Flanker Job Skills 

Then we have the Flankers, which are all about quick movement and throwing out damage at close range. To make the most of their hit-and-run style, focus on skills that keep them fast and unpredictable, like the Sidestep, which lets them teleport out of sticky situations or get behind enemies for a perfect strike. I think you should combine that with the one that we talked about earlier, the Nimble Feet. This makes attacking and running away much easier when things get hard. 

We also need something to do for their cooldown timers, to do more damage within less time. This lets you run around the battlefield or stay one step ahead of the enemy as you try to outrun them, these skills make the Flanker unstoppable in close combat.
