All My Friendly Neighborhood Endings
My Friendly Neighborhood is one of the more intriguing games that is loved for its unique idea and even better execution. You play as puppets, trying to get their canceled show back on TV. But it’s not an easy task, especially when things can go from good to bad, and even worse!
It depends on the choices that you make along the way which leads to entirely different endings to the game. In this guide, I am gonna tell you how you can unlock all the different endings in My Friendly Neighborhood.
How Many Endings are There in My Friendly Neighborhood?
There are a total of 4 different endings in the game depending on the choice that you make along the way. There’s a bad ending, an escape ending, a neutral ending and a true ending, which you can also call a good ending.
In this guide, we will go through each one and how to actually unlock them.
1. The Neutral Ending
The first one we’re gonna talk about is the Neutral ending. And for you to get this one, you need to accept Ricky’s offer at the end of the game, but make sure you don’t help all of the major puppets along the way. If you’ve skipped helping some of them, then Gordon will still agree to help the show come back on air. But it doesn’t last forever, he eventually stops showing up and feels haunted by his decision to leave it all behind. So, yeah, you get why it’s called the neutral ending.
2. The Escape Ending
Then the next ending is called the Escape Ending. Why? Because for this one, you simply have to leave the building early. After starting the game, head back to the truck instead of continuing deeper into the Neighborhood. This will trigger a cutscene where Gordon narrates his decision to abandon the job. He explains how he got fired, started watching the nightly news instead, and eventually forgot about everything that happened. It’s probably not the ending you want, but there it is, if you want to explore it.
3. The Bad Ending
Now, let’s talk about the bad ending, where you have to play through the entire game until the very end, but when Ricky offers you the chance to help revive the show, you simply have to refuse his help.
This will make Gordon walk away from the job, and the ending reveals he got promoted to manager with his own office. But then you learn how he is unhappy about the show not getting revived and feels like something is missing from his life.
4. The True Ending OR Good One
Last but not least, the true ending, or we can call it the good ending. And for this one, you have to do plenty of things right to achieve it. You have to help every single puppet you come across in the game, before accepting Ricky’s help for the show’s revival. I’ve made a step-by-step guide for you to do exactly that:
-
Help Pearl: The first thing you need to do is find her missing eyes and glasses in the main Neighborhood set and return them to her. This will restore her sight.
-
Comfort Gobblette: Then head to the theater, and play a war movie reel to calm her down. You can do that when Gordon mentions how she’s sad, then go down and talk to her to offer comfort.
-
Fix the Sewer for Ray: Then you have to Locate the pump valve and repair the sewer drain to help Ray out.
-
Feed the Puppet Dogs: Next you need to gather both halves of the medallion to unlock the aviary door. Inside, you’ll find a courtyard with a bag of dog food on a bench. Use it to fill the three empty food bowls in the greenhouse and ring the bell.
-
Play a Duet with Arnold: Lastly, search the cardboard area to collect all the missing puzzle pieces and use them to complete Arnold’s piano. Then you can play a duet with him.
That’s pretty much all you need to do in order to unlock the final, true ending to this game. Once you do that, and then accept Ricky’s offer, Gordon will stay to help revive the show.
This makes him lose his current job, of course, but at least he’s satisfied and happy now. And that’s how you revive the show and keep it alive for a good ending.
