Where to Find Chainsaw in Silent Hill 2
I am sure you’ve seen players walking around with a chainsaw, and thinking how they got their hands on a Chainsaw. Well, If you've been hunting for it during your first playthrough, you are not going to find it. The Chainsaw is one of the coolest weapons in the game, but it’s locked behind a New Game+ mode.
There are plenty of weapons to find in Silent Hill 2, but this one really is special and of course, devastatingly powerful and fun. In this guide, I’ll walk you through exactly how to snag this killer tool.
Unlocking New Game+
First things first, the reason why you won’t find Chainsaw in your first run is because it’s not available in a regular playthrough. To unlock it, you first need to complete the game and experience any of its multiple endings of your choosing. Once you’ve rolled credits, you’ll see the option for New Game+ when you start a new game from the main menu.
Toggle “New Game+” in the Game Mode options, and you’ll gain access to plenty of extra stuff for a very different run in Silent Hill, a new ending, additional content, and theChainsaw.
Finding the Chainsaw
Now, once you are in the New Game+ mode, it’s fairly easy to get your hands on the Chainsaw in Silent Hill 2. All you have to know is where to look for it, and surprisingly, it’s found pretty early in the game. I have marked the exact location of where you can find it on the map. So, basically, you have to make your way through the outskirts of Silent Hill. You will have to walk along the foggy path, which will lead you to Silent Hill Ranch, that really stands out in the dark wilderness.
As you approach the range, you will see a Ranch sign on the right side of the Ranch’s gate. There, you will see the Chainsaw, in a pile of logs, just sitting there. It will be easy to spot. All you need to do is walk up to it and interact to claim your new toy.
This Chainsaw is really a beast of a weapon, and once it’s in your hands, you will be able to have some real fun. Now, it’s all on you, you can tear the enemies apart with this, instead of having to bash them with a bat or bar. It’s a little annoying though, because it just always keeps running, even when not in use.
That’s pretty much all you have to do in order to get your hands on the Chainsaw in Silent Hill 2.
